There are lots of creative, fun ways to do this. Pick something, please.
Don’t let the seasons go by without intentionally remembering them. Someday you will discover that it is so fun to go back and look at visible reminders of all those years of sports: big wins, small victories, tough defeats, tears, laughter, friends made, road trips, and personal achievements.
I regret that I did not track more of it with my three kids.
Kid Sports Memories
There are many ways to go about this and I have just discovered one more way that I love and would have used if it had been around when my kids were younger. It’s called Kid Sports Memories and using it to design your child’s personal sports card is as easy as 1-2-3.
- Choose from 26 templates and if you don’t see what you want, they will work to find a template for you.
- Choose your color and any picture–action or posed.
- Ask to see a proof before the card is printed.
Make the seasons last forever
You may find, as I did over the years, that there are some seasons you would rather forget. You know…terrible coach, selfish players, crazy parents. But the one thing you will want to remember in each season is the bright spots: your child’s friends, accomplishments, victories, achievements, skill growth. All those things that make you proud as a parent.
Print a few cards for each season; save a few for the scrap books, give out a few to family, put one on the fridge, put one in your wallet. If it was me starting all over again, I would print a few cards each season and mount one in a special place–maybe a bulletin board or hallway wall. It is so fun to watch how your child grows and changes over the years.
I did that with my kids’ class photos each year and now I have three large frames with all 12 years’ worth of class photos, one from each year. I love looking at them and seeing how my kids grew up over the years.
Choosing something like Kid Sports Memories allows you to pick a consistent way to remember each season.
