When your child gets cut from the team, it can be devastating to him and to you; no one likes rejection.
But getting cut from the team doesn’t have to be the end of the road; there are options, and in this podcast, I chat with Rick Harriman from Values Based Athletics about what those next steps can be.
Rick has more than twenty-five years’ experience coaching highly competitive basketball, baseball, softball and soccer teams for various levels. He is actively involved in several sports committees and is a sought after consultant/speaker for youth sports topics.
Rick’s coaching style places an emphasis on defense, transition play and fundamentals with a focus on process vs. results, competition vs. winning. He authors a bi-weekly youth sports blog that emphasizes basketball.
In March Rick will be starting his 3rd Are you up to the Challenge? contest. This contest is open to anyone that wants to improve basketball fundamentals in the offseason with a focus on shooting. Information will be on the VBA website at the end of March!
Basketball season may be over, but for many basketball is NOT!
If you are a basketball mom–yes, DADS can read this book too–then this little survival guide will be your best friend!
